for the second Family Game Night
This month’s theme: Bring Your Own Board Game
When: Thursday April 25th, 6-7pm
Where: WES Cafeteria
Games: Students are welcome to bring their own board game or come and join in a game with friends. Games should have an average play time of one hour or less and be age appropriate
Fresh popcorn will be served

TEACHER APPRECIATION LUNCHEON HELP NEEDED!
To help cover classrooms so teachers can enjoy the luncheon together, please sign up here. We are in need of at least 14 volunteers and as many as 28 people just to cover the classrooms. Thoughts On Stewardship and Self-Direction
This fall, the WCUD School Board approved five characteristics for the Profile of a Graduate of Windsor Central Schools. The traits are (in no particular order) academic excellence, self-direction, stewardship, skillful communication, and critical problem solving. As we think about how to introduce these traits to our elementary students, the ideas of stewardship and self-direction come to mind as things parents can be encouraging at home. In our WES preK classroom, three and four year olds have self-directed choice time where they have access to a wide variety of learning opportunities and they choose what to play and when they want to have snack. In grades K-6, we are preparing for an Earth Day clean up, practicing stewardship for our school and community. If you are looking for inspiration at home, here are some ideas of ways children can be self-directed stewards at home:
